Unit 1 Grammar
In Unit 1, I learnt about general information of
grammar. Grammar is
really important for teachers and learners because it lets to organize,
combine, change part of words, and group of words. Inside of grammar there are
some terms that are necessary to take into account. For example, part of speech
(verbs, nouns, adjective, prepositions, adverbs and determiners). On the
other hand, there was the opportunity to analyze some grammatical structures and terms like prefixes,
suffixes and affix
(a meaningful group of letters added to the beginning or end of a word in order
to make a new word). Meanwhile, prefixes (a group of letters added to the beginning of a base
word) and suffixes (a
group of letters added at the end of a base word.). In order to apply this
knowledge, teachers have the opportunity to use the correct strategies, method
according to the level of the pupils. For instance, in my case I will use a
warm up called “The Alphabet”. It lets learners to develop their critical
thinking because they can think words related to grammar using each letter of
the alphabet. After, I can explain the definition of each word that they wrote
before.
